Where the Boys Are

三月份在美國有兩樁大事，都跟大學有關。
一個是如火如荼正在進行中的
大學籃球隊錦標賽（NCAA Tournament），
另一個就是大學開始放春假，
許多大學生要到南部（尤其是佛羅里達）
的海灘上去瘋狂。

這支 Where the Boys Are
是1960年同一個名字的電影主題曲。
電影就是大學生到佛州度春假，
在沙灘上嬉戲、談戀愛的簡單故事。

這支由 Neil Sedaka 寫的歌，
在電影中由 Connie Francis 主唱。
Connie Francis 的音色很特別，
聼過了以後就忘不了。
當時 Connie Francis 已經小有名氣，
這部電影算是她步上影壇的處女作。
這部原本只計劃賣大學生市場的簡單電影
卻蠻賣座，替電影公司賺了不少錢。
以後的五年中，又拍了同一系列的三部男女學生電影，
也都由 Connie Francis 主演，
當然也少不了她唱的歌。

Connie Francis 在剛出道的時候，
曾經和 Bobby Darin 談過戀愛，
卻因爲她的父親反對而作罷，
但是 Connie Francis 始終無法忘情。

1974年她在紐約州長島的旅館被性侵，精神大受損害，
曾經退出演藝圈長達七年，
她的婚姻生活也受了影響，以離婚結束。
人也患了躁鬱症（bipolar disorder），
後來她試著重還歌壇，
近年來，她仍舊偶爾開演唱會，
2007年她被選入Hit Parade Hall of Fame。
