陳水扁 = a premature democratic product.

Enough has been said about 陳水扁.

Let us face the fact. He is there. He holds the title of a President. Nothing can be changed in another 2 years until the end of his terms. We created him, though a monster; we have to take it at his present value.

In our morning casual conversation, we touched the subject about China. With the lesson we learned from Taiwan, a premature baby of Democracy was born at too early stage. We cannot, for the sake of his existence, put back to artificial incubator to nourish the body until he is safe to survive the ordeal. The people of Taiwan must work this out.

Mr. Secrest asked my opinion. “Do you think that China will be changed to a democratic country in 20 years?” “The process of a democratic country might take longer than that. Do not try to cultivate a premature baby like the way that Taiwan has experienced.” Yes, what I meant is “Haste makes Waste.” In Taiwan, we learn that a country leader without decent moral standard would only lead the country backward instead of forward. The Lee’s presidency led to 10 years government corruption followed by 陳水扁 another 8 years. Since you have taught Western and world history, I presume that you would agree a real democratic country can not be matured in a couple of decades.”

In a country when you watched your leader stepped out of line by his bad mouth, you are feeling humiliated. Then, in another instance, you watched 陳水扁 in the video nearly made rude behavior by grabbing Laura Bush’s hand and shake it. In the States, it might be considered “Sex Harassment” I am sorry for that instance and all country must apologize for his leader’s misconduct.

I am not going to say, “I am proud of coming from that country.” I have to admit that our democracy in Taiwan is not matured yet.
