註記：原指定主題為言論「生命」，此詩偏向探討生命之行路歷程。就筆者敝人而言，生命歷程猶如蟬之生命週期，深埋地底數十年，歷經風霜苦楚，而在終期綻放、歌頌生命光彩，故詩言蟬，並排版出蟬之身形。詩中運用英語修辭metaphor(暗喻)、metonomy(借代)、personification(擬人)、apostrophe（呼告）等手法，為選修英詩賞析與閱讀課程所要求。

Sorrow is my own yard

where the new grass

flames as it has flamed

often before, but not

with the cold fire

that closes round me this year.

To leave or not to leave?

Although it cold,

the yard is my own sorrow

where the weathered leaves

fell upon my heart as it cover the ground

with the blue snow

that comes around me a year after a year

註記：此詩改編自William Carlos Williams之詩作《The Widow’s Lament in Springtime》(上方有連結)，保留原詩第一stanza(詩的段落)，自第二stanza開始改寫。言即使憂愁之感(sorrow)令人起寒瑟縮，the speaker仍喜好咀嚼這般感覺自憐、憂愁之感終是the speaker生命的一部份。
