Another extraordinary novel that I have ever read druing these past few years. Besides its length (probably over 900 pages), its characters are unusually more than the average ones. In other words, it nearly contains 50 characters,  excluding the dead victims. By the way, the story consists of two volumes.

I like its style. Though once I thought it is almost telling the why, the who, the what, the when the murderers have done it in the middle of the books, I have thought to put down the books and read something else. But the author pulls me back eventually. Actually, the story is full of twists and surprises. It worths your time taking a look really.

Last time the book I read has as many pages as this one is J.K. Rolings' "Harry Potter the fifth. However, if I compare these two novels I would not say they are equal at all. Mrs. Rollings has been writing as poorly as the number increased in her "Harry Potter" series. That is to say, she  didn' t write the latter three books as well as the first three ones. It's a pity. But that is not the point here anyway.

The story,模仿犯, describes three schoolmates sharing the same primary days to junior high. Two of three had turned evil after college graduation and started to kidnap womem, and torchured, raped and killed them brutally in the end. These two evil characters killed people for fun, without guilty at all. They both even thought of the killing was only playing a role in their own script. Those women they killed should thank them instead of accusing them. They did believe the chosen victims were worthless if they kept living like they used to be. They were doing these women favors. Therefore, they created a stage for them to be kidnapped and murdered and then would be memorized by the society. Their names could long live the time.

What a pathetic thought anyway.  But the author, I believe, tries very hard to imply that the modern Japanese young people are changing the viewpoints drastically than their parents used to be. More and more young generation couldn't hold on their jobs and change it all the time, and quit it as they couldn't stand it anymore.  Many of them start to move back to live with their parents and fed by their old folks as well. But this doesn't say that they would still respect their elders. And this is not enough. These two evil ones need to live dangerously and mercilessly. What a tragic way of thought changing it is nowadays.

Perhaps, the similar situation has pervailed here in Taiwan already.  Our young generation seem getting harder and harder to understand their parents mind work and do whatever they think is suitable to them only. I don't know what the right answer is.

Maybe, I am worried too much.  Well, whatever it is, teaching our young ones to learn well is really not an easy task at all. All you can do is just do it and prevent anything bad to happen as best as we could. That's all!
