33.  After you meet someone, you want to get to know them. What kind of things can you ask about? You can ask, “Where are you from?” Then you can ask more questions about the person’s hometown or home country. Then you can ask people about the place you both are now. If you meet at school, you can talk about school. Ask someone what classes or teachers they like and why. If you meet at a work place, you can ask about their job or what they do. If you meet at a beach or an entertainment place, ask what they are enjoying about this place. You can also talk to people about sports. Ask them about their favorite sport or sports team. You can ask about movies. People can tell you about the movie they just saw or their favorite movie. You can also ask about activities or hobbies. Find out how your new friends spend their free time. When you ask a question, listen carefully to be answered. That will often help you what questions to ask next. Also ask questions that do not have Yes or No answers. That will help you to get to know that person better. I am going to a party tonight. I will probably meet some new people there. After I introduce myself, I will ask people where they are from. I can also ask them why they came to the party. Of if they know other people at the party, then I will ask about their hobbies. I like to learn about people and their interests. I hope you do too. That’s all for today. See you next time on Jack’s file.

34.  What are you looking forward to this year?
