Subject is a biographical film's title and the namesake of a famous American country song sung by Patsy Cline(1932-1963). Patsy was queen of country music in early 60's.  Besides the subject song, her other great hits are "Walkin' After Midnight", "Crazy", "I Fall to Pieces", "Strange", "She's Got You", "Faded Love" and so many others.  Most of her popular songs feature slow tempos which are languishingly ended with nearly an enthalling tune of sobbing, so magnetic that always tug the heartstrings of audience. Her other songs of fast tempo are like traditional Western & Country, full of buoyancy and often decorated with mellifluous yodel. Unfortunately, she died at the peak of her career, killed in an air crash during trouping. (You know, in those days many famous vocalists were killed in the accidents on air: Johnny Horton, Roy Obeison, Ricky Nelson etc.)

In the film, Patsy Cline was portrayed by actress Jessica Lange who perfectly faking that she was singing Patsy's songs.  Of course, the film is a little bit too dramatic to have faithfully illustrate Patsy's true life, especially her marriage.  I always wonder how to become a eligible husband to a woman celebrity.  A compent agent of her business?  Maybe.  But a successful man in a totally different field from his wife's would be the best and final solution.  (President Xi vs. his prestigious wife Peng Liyuan?)

In "Coal Miner's Daughter", another biographical movie on Roretta Lynn, who was Patsy Cline's best friend and also a contemporary singer, actress Sissy Specek sang Roretta's songs with her own voice.  How marvelous she was, no wonder she could win Oscar best actress award twice.

Which song of Patsy Cline's that I like most?  "Faded Love".  Please get to YOUTUBE searching for that touching and pathetic music.

P.S. Thanks to Arthur, who lent me the DVD as to let me have a wonderful afternoon watching subject movie.
