(You might not be aware of this big event held just at next door to Taiwan because almost no media here had ever reported it.) China ended up in second place of the gold medals awarded, slightly behind the U.S., and number one in the total medals acquired. She eveloped all of ten gold medals in diving as anticipated; however, more importantly, 孫揚, a brat pack won the champion of 1500M men’s free stroke and broke the long-standing world records, a significant demonstration of Chineses’ physical competitiveness in the trditional Caucasian-dominating field, and China’s synthetic national power as well.
