A hatred crime took place recently in a Chinese community (or a Taiwanese community, whatever.) of southern California as a gunman killed one and injured antoher five at a Presbytherin the church.  The murderer and the victims are all immigrants from Taiwan, but the former is a reunion advocate while the congregations, as widely recognized, are the sympathizers of Taiwan independence.  Some pro-green media began to exagerate the incompatiblity and the gap between Reunion and Taidu, trying to rub salt into the wound again.  

Well, you can rest assured the similar tragedy will not happen on the island simply because no private firearms are allowed here in Taiwan.  But we must be cautious about the latent crisis may break out should the island be in turmoil as PLA is going to take action over Taiwan.

I got to know the church when I was working in NYC during 90s.  Once a colleague of mine insisted that I go with him to a Presbytherin church to attend a gathering.  There I went, and I was surprised to find the Bible they used are all written in Roman alphabets, not to mention the sermon are all made in Fujianese dialect.  When the gathering was over, the priest asked me to come again.  He was not as cordially as he frist met me when I told him I am an agnostic and I will not come again.
