I am not a regular coffee drinker, but my son and his wife are.  So during their stay at my place I have to prepare coffee for them.  (The good news is they are not dainty drinkers, so I do not have to purchase a percolater to make drip coffee for them; an instant one will do.)

This morning when my wife was making coffee for them as part of their breakfast, my son told her to make his coffee "濃一點".  Suddenly, I recalled something from the days when I was in high school, as a tenth or eleventh grader.  One day our English teacher gave us a quiz in the classroom.  She wanted us to determine which one of the two sentenses is correct: "I like my coffee strong." and "I like my coffee strongly."  Almost all of the students, including me, picked the latter one as the answer.  Obviously, we were wrong.  

Maybe at that time our brains were all imprisoned in the confinement of grammar rules, thinking the adverb "strongly" there must be a modifier to the verb "like".  We did not realize the noun "coffee" is the key word that needs to be modified, not the verb "like".
