Report said KMTs chairman Wu Dunyi is planning to visit Chinas Mainland in coming April, and his application is pending the approval from Wonky Cai. Has Taiwan Affair Office already given permission to Wu? The report didnt mention of. Wu is a typical Dutai politician; everybody knows it. When he was elected as the chairman of KMT, some reporter asked him if he approves of signing peace treaty with Chinas Mainland. Wu prevaricated the question by answering that if he is so doing, "will America continue to sell Taiwan arms?" Whats the heck! So the purpose of the trip is quite apparent. Wu and his "localized" KMT are trying to grab this opportunity to gain a concession from Mainland, such as let Mainland tourists come to Taiwan again, so as to make a plus to its mid-term election. Otherwise, as Wu said himself, "If I return to Taiwan empty-handed, then why should I pay the visit to Mainland?" I think Chinas Mainland, to show her magnanimity, could let Wu come. But dont give Wu and KMT any "advantages" again, unless Wu gives firm promises like KMT will stick to One China principle without prolonging the process of unification sine die, fully support 31 items of benefiting-Taiwan measures, and so on. Is that a fair deal? |
