Bob Kriebel, a Lafayette legend, died on Sunday, September 28, 2014, after battling dementia. HIs work as a reporter and editor at the Journal & Courier beginning in 1957 spanned over four decades and his weekly column about local history continued to appear until 2011.From the time he began work at the J &C to the time stopped writing, Bob was very nurturing and supportive of young people pursuing journalism. He always dealt with his colleagues fairly and courteously. In addition to having a remarkably successful career, Kriebel was known as a wonderful man who shared his life with his wife and five children, or Cadillacs, as he once called them.
