The Preamble to the Constitution, 1787 We the people of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. **establish--v.to start officially, to begin  **domestic--adj.of the country **Tranquility--n. calm,peacefulness. **Justice--n.fairness **promote--to put forth or advance **welfare--n.well- being(福利,幸福,健康,社會福利制度) **Liberty--freedom(s)(自由) **posterity--generations to come (in the future)(後代,子孫) **ordain--officially sanctioned named(官方授權地名稱)--制定 **insure--確保,擔保,保險 **secure-protect **defense- What are the most important rights human beings should have?

**I. Freedom of Speech, Press, Religion, and Petition

**II.Right to keep and bear arms

**III. Conditions for quarters of soldiers quarters--the place where they live

**IV. RIGHT OF Search and Seizure regulated

**V. Provisions concerning prosecution

**VI. Right to a speedy trail, witnesses, etc.

**VII. Right to a trail by jury

**VIII. Excessive bail, cruel punishment
