美國前國務卿奧布來女士（Madeleine Albright) 有一本著作，題名 Fascism - a warning，曾登上紐約時報暢銷書的第一名。依她觀察得到的結論：

A Fascist is someone who claims to speak for a whole nation or group, is utterly unconcerned with the rights of others,and is willing to use violence and whatever other means are necessary to achieve the goals he or she might have.

（法西斯主義者，號稱為整個國家或團體發言，全然無視他人的權利，寧願運用暴力乃至所有其他必要手段，來達成他或她的目的。）
