偶爾再次由收音機裡聽到這首 80年代的情歌, 想起老朋友曾說過的陳年往事: 他在當兵時, 女朋友越來越少來看他, 雙方心裡都明白發生什麼事, 但是誰也不願意先開口. 有一天女方寄來一封信, 沒有任何問候與署名, 就是這首"The One You Love" 的歌詞. 

朋友很乾脆的在"Or are you going back to the one you love" 這句子前面打個勾, 就寄回去給女方了結這段情.  聽朋友娓娓道來, 似乎已經事過境遷沒有什麼留戀, 往後數十年也交過各方佳麗不下數十人.  奇怪的是: 事到如今他還記得這段過去與這首情歌.
