Subject: Boss please consider thax
Hey boss, I think I need a raise/promotion and I believe I certainly deserve one. Reasons:
1) Colleagues who are less able and have lesser sonority are all assistant managers and making much more than I do.
2) I am confident that I understand the business well enough comparing to other people and I am actually the only one who proactively pursues the essential of CR/HR to the teeth
3) Commuting and living cost are way too high for me since I am from Taipei
Just put yourself in my shoes, what would you do? Please consider it.
Thanks Rick

Colleagues are making more because they are overseas taking different responsibilities and working different hours, though they may be less capable in certain areas
2)I am confident that I understand the business well enough comparing to other people and I am actually the only one who proactively pursues the essential of CR/HR to the teeth
I agree that you are proactive in your way, even though sometimes questionable. You know how to “talk” with customers, but my perception is that your understanding of the business isn’t quite deep enough (I am sure you will argue but this is my perception). I will make sure going forward that I provide you opportunities to help you get deeper into detail and learn more about our business including HR and perhaps other functions
3)Commuting and living cost are way too high for me since I am from Taipei
I don’t suspect this, but wasn’t it high already to begin with before you accepted your first position at PCN with respective pay?
Just put yourself in my shoes, what would you do? Please consider it.
Overall, promotion is unlikely at this point, a raise is considerable. But please consider the following as I consider proposing a raise for you- focus on issues, not people (by the way, the complaints you received should be filed…again, information should be treated confidential within CR department not individual)
- know our business, in addition to CR operation
- control your temper/attitude (think about it - you just lost your temper at my office last week and everyone here knew that…and you get a raise after that…) After all I can’t single handedly decide how much you
should be making and what position you should get promoted into, and as far as I know you are not getting very good critics from management. Meanwhile, I can arrange more traveling for you (necessary too), hopefully that will help with mitigate your cost pressure ( I thought you were rich man…J )
Thanks Rick

“Colleagues are making more because they are overseas taking different responsibilities and working different hours, though they maybe less capable in certain areas”.
1)我只希望你用人的標準要一致
- No double and harsher standards when it comes to me
- They didn’t have to be promoted to assistant managers to do the job they are doing now.
- Their “base salary” is much higher than mine while they’ve received very negative criticism from the local top management and they are less capable in every area known to men!!
2)I certainly appreciate that. Again no double standards!!
3) I didn’t realize that until recently, 做了才知道

Agree
- know our business, in addition to CR peration
Again, no double standards. I even use my own time to do some goodies for the company, please keep that in mind.
- control your temper/attitude (think about it - you just lost your temper at my office last week and everyone here knew that…and you get a raise after that…)
I already controlled my temper and I apologized. As everyone knows I am trying to do something good for the dept
After all I can’t single handedly decide how much you should be making and what position you should get promoted into
Again no Nepotism, and double standards
and as far as I know you are not getting very good critics from management.
Please see #1

Not really that’s my retirement fund, don’t wanna touch that!! I really appreciate your openness that’s why I always defend for you!!
