Don’t be so dejected and dispirited

O my courageous hair

Only a small touch of autumn

What’s to be afraid of?

Why to be like a reed

Which raises its white flags in succession

Want to surrender?

The day has not yet been broken!

Be steady of footing

Be straight of body

In spite of wild winds and rushing rains

You shall be adamant

— Like a bamboo!

Braving ice and snow

You shall be like a plum blossom

— Never wither!

我堅強勇敢的頭髮呀

才那麼一點點秋意

有什麼好害怕的？

為什麼要像蘆葦

忙不迭地紛紛舉起白旗？

想投降嗎？

天都還沒亮呢！

站穩腳跟

挺起胸膛

任它風狂雨驟

你要像一支翠竹

——堅忍！

任它冰雪為虐

你要像一朵梅花

——不凋！
