Astrud Gilberto and Stan Getz: THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA - 1964

(葡萄牙語歌詞)
(英語意譯)
Olha que coisa mais linda
Mais cheia de graca
E ela menina
Que vem e que passa
Num doce balanco
Caminho do mar
Look at this thing, most lovely
most graceful
It's her, the girl
that comes, that passes
with a sweet swinging
walking to the sea

Moca do corpo dourado
Do sol de Ipanema
O seu balancado
e mais que um poema
E a coisa mais linda
Que eu ja vi passar
Girl of the golden body
from the sun of Ipanema
Your swaying
is more than a poem
It's a thing more beautiful
than I have ever seen pass by
Ahh, porque estou tao sozinho
Ahh, porque tudo e tao triste
Ahh, a beleza que existe
A beleza que nao e so minha
Que tambem passa sozinha
Ah, why am I so alone
Ah, why is everything so sad
The beauty that exists
The beauty that is not mine alone
that also passes by on its own
Ahh, se ela soubesse
Que quando ela passa
O mundo inteirinho
Se enche de graca
E fica mais lindo
Por causa do amor
Ah, if she only knew
that when she passes
the world smiles
fills itself with grace
and remains more beautiful
because of love

Tall and tan, young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes
Each boy she passes goes "aah!"

When she walks she's like a samba
That swings so cool and sways so gentle
That when she passes
Each boy she passes goes "aah!"

Oh, but I watch her so sadly
How can I tell her I love her
Yes, I would give my heart gladly
But each day when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead not at me

Tall and tan, young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes
I smile but she doesn't see
She doesn't see

Oh, but I watch her so sadly
How can I tell her I love her
Yes, I would give my heart gladly
But each day when she walks to the sea
She loos straight ahead not at me

Tall, tan, young, lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes
I smile but she doesn't see
She doesn't see
Oh, she just doesn't see
She doesn't see
She doesn't see

Ipanema 就是這個海灘

"Garota de Ipanema" ("The Girl from Ipanema") is a well-known bossa nova song, a worldwide hit in the mid-1960s that won a Grammy for Record of the Year in 1965. It was written in 1962, with music by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Portuguese lyrics by Vinicius de Moraes. English lyrics were written later by Norman Gimbel.

The first commercial recording was in 1962, by Pery Ribeiro. The version performed by Astrud Gilberto, along with Joao Gilberto and Stan Getz, from the 1964 album Getz/Gilberto, became an international hit, reaching number five in the United States pop chart, number 29 in the United Kingdom, and charting highly throughout the world. Numerous recordings have been used in films, sometimes as an elevator music cliche (for example, near the end of The Blues Brothers). In 2004, it was one of 50 recordings chosen that year by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry.
