自１９６０年代初期出道後　四十幾年來一直廣受樂迷喜愛
早期以演唱音樂劇　傳統經典為主
此後延伸至流行　搖滾　爵士　黑人　迪斯可......幾乎每種樂風都嘗試過
而且在每個領域獲得肯定
７０年代末期時　她已是美國最暢銷的女歌手
只有貓王　披頭四的專輯賣得比她多
芭芭拉的白金／金唱片也超過所有女藝人
專輯賣座保守估計至少有８０００萬張
（由於金／白金認證數字的改變　譬如６０年代金唱片是１００萬　而且沒有白金　因此檯面上只有７２００萬）

可說是歌壇銷售保證

１９８８年秋天　４６歲的史翠珊推出了四年來的首張錄音室大碟〔Till I Loved You〕
登上美國排行榜＃１０　英國再度為她奪得一白金唱片

首支主打是與當時的愛人唐強森合唱專輯同名單曲

第二主打則是〔All I Ask Of You／我心所求〕
此曲乃是當時正大紅大紫的安德魯洛伊韋伯（Andrew Lloyd Webber）音樂劇〔歌劇魅影／The Phantom of Opera〕中的名曲

音樂劇中由莎拉布萊曼（Sarah Brightman）與麥可克勞福（Michael Crawford）演唱

後來莎拉與英國貓王克利夫理察重唱　並推出單曲

〔Till I Loved You〕中的版本將〔All I Ask Of You〕改編成以管弦樂器編曲的抒情歌曲
