１９８９年　經紀人Nigel Martin-Smith看到美國街頭頑童（New Kids On The Block）大紅後

由於當時英國蠻缺男子偶像團體

便決定招考一群年輕人來組成類似的組合

１９９０年終於由Gary,Howard,Jason,Mark,Robbie,組團

１９９１年夏天開始進軍歌壇

１９９２年夏天以〔It Only take A Minute〕打入英國Top１０

首張專輯拿下排行榜亞軍　熱賣雙白金　終於讓接招在樂壇走紅

１９９３年２月接招發行秋天才要推出的第二張大碟〔Everything Changes／世事多變〕的首支主打〔Why Can’t I Wake Up With You〕

拿下出道以來最好的成績：英國亞軍
夏天發行第二單曲〔Pray／祈禱〕　表現更出色　迅速登上英國王座　成為接招第一首冠軍（４週）

銷售逾４０萬張　拿到金唱片　
這首旋律討好 節奏輕快的歐洲流行舞曲由有一副白人靈魂好嗓子的蓋瑞巴洛（Gary Barlow）譜寫主唱

１９９３年１０月發行〔Everything Changes〕　空降冠軍　大賣４白金

成為當年英國暢銷大碟＃３　以及接招９０年代最賣的專輯
並且是他們躍升為全球（美國除外）偶像超級團體的踏腳石

這個團體還被宣傳為自披頭四（The Beatles）後英國最成功的男子團體
