下半年開始籌備新專輯

１９７１年， 音樂導師Burt Bacharach和Hal David為電影［The Love Machine ／愛情機器］配樂。

然而這部電影遭到影評嚴厲批評，在餘波中，兩人決定終止工作關係。

這次分手使華薇克失去了這對製作人／詞曲作者的幫助。

根據合同，她有義務在沒有Bacharach和David的情況下履行與華納的合同，並且在合約期間，她將與各種製片人合作。

由於Bacharach和David的分手以及他們未能履行與華薇克的合同，面臨著被華納兄弟唱片公司起訴的可能性，
