圖: Lisa guided the audience through a thoroughly entertaining tour of jazz, from its inception to modern times. Her repertoire is impressive, ranging from the roaring ‘20s to present date. Lisa had examples from Dizzy Gillespie, Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Winston Marsalis, Kenny G, Ray Hargrove and Dr. Jay. Her succinct and definitive explanations were exceptional in directing the audience what to listen for and expect during this concert. Improvisation, in particular, is a basic in the jazz genre, and with Lisa’s guidance, the audience was able to appreciate that aspect, which could easily have been confusing without that information. With the help of the immensely talented Avery Bremner, the preconcert programme was truly a delight.
