Thanks for your email. I'm sorry to hear that your classmate may be suffering from abise. You must be very worried so I hope my advice is helpful.

You asked me what I think you should do. If I were you, I'd first do research about the counselling and support services that are available in your area. This will make it easier for you to help your classmat get all the advice and support that she needs. You could try phoning some youth organisations to find out what they offer. At the same time, you could talk to the people at your local community centre.

Second, I really think that you should find a way to talk to your classmate about her problem. I know that you think she's trying to avoid you, but doing this will encourage her to tackle and solve the issue. You should give yourself enough time to talk to her so make sure that you aren't disturbed by other people. How about inviting her over to do some homework together or going for a quiet walk together?
