Practice Loving Kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity to Become One with Kalachakra

Grand Master Lu's Dharma talk after the Kalachakra Homa in Malaysia, on 20th October 2007
Translated by Lianhua Zhi-wei, Proofread: TBD, Edited by Jason Yu
Homage to Reverend Liao Ming, Vajra Acharya Sakya Zhengkong, His Holiness the Sixteenth Karmapa, Vajra Acharya Thubten Dargye. Homage to the venerable Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the shrine. Vajra Acharyas, Vajra Acharya Lianxiang, senior reverends, reverends, dharma instructors, dharma assistants, fellow chapter leaders, fellow school members, good afternoon! Greetings to all the honored guests.
Today, Kalachakra descended from emptiness into the homa furnace, the mandala, the shrine, and then into Grandmaster’s heart during the Kalachakra Homa. Hence, this was a homa with tremendous dharma power. (Audience applause)
Earlier, Vajra Acharya Chengzu mentioned that seven Malaysian Buddhist organizations do not recognize the legitimacy of the True Buddha School. That is not very important. As long as we recognize them, then that is good. Here, I like to personally express my good wishes that all the Malaysian Buddhist organizations awaken sentient beings; spread Buddha-dharma; enable all sentient beings to have peace in their hearts and to be reborn into the Pure Land; enable everyone to achieve Buddhahood in his/her present body. I hereby sincerely wish that all the Malaysian Buddhist organizations and non-Buddhist religious organizations would harmoniously purify the hearts and spirits of sentient beings. This is my sincere prayer. (Audience applause)
Buddha’s Seal is Proof that Grandmaster is Buddha
Some people also brought up the issue of real Buddhas, fake Buddhas, and living buddhas. In this universe, before the beginningless beginning, before the start of everything, sentient beings should number as many as the sands along the Ganges River as Vajra Acharya Chengzu had said. Everything was equal. What is real? What is fake? What is living buddha? Frankly speaking, everyone is a living buddha. It is just that some people have not revived their Buddha-nature. Then, is Grandmaster Lu a living buddha? (The audience replied, "yes" and applauded) Let me tell you all that your answer is completely wrong. Grandmaster Lu is Buddha.
Let me tell you all that there is no such thing as a living or dead buddha. There is only just one Buddha. One is everything. Everything is also just one. The center of Grandmaster Lu’s skull had already been opened. I can go to see Shakyamuni Buddha through this opening of my skull [crown aperture]. Shakyamuni Buddha and I are good friends, good pals, and very good buddies. (applause)
Grandmaster was born with two sariras in his earlobes. You can see them yourself. I was born with them. I was also wearing "heavenly garments" when I was born! If Grandmaster bared his chest in public one day, you would see that there is a Buddha seal of [Buddhist’s] swastika on the center of my chest. It formed recently and was not there before. (Audience laughed and applauded)
Furthermore, the imprint of wish-fulfilling dharma conch had formed on the Grandmaster’s palm. On the back of Grandmaster’s right thumb concealed a Smiling-Faced Ghost King that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva sent to be my dharma protector. Grandmaster has many dharma protectors. So, no matter what kind of sorceries or spells other people use, no matter how hard they try to slander me, try to hurt me, don’t worry! Grandmaster has dharma protectors providing protection. Let me tell you all that tiger stripes had naturally formed on Grandmaster’s feet. All herukas have tiger stripes on their feet. These tiger stripes appeared naturally after I had returned from the trip to Greece and Italy. Let me tell everyone that these are all signs of second incarnation of a living buddha. (Audience applause)
Now, I am asking everyone, does any one of you have a [Buddhist] swastika on your chest? Those who do, please raise your hand. (Grandmaster raised his hand and everybody laughed) Shakyamuni Buddha and all Buddhas have the [Buddhist] swastika symbol on the center of their chests. My chest also has the swastika symbol! (applause)
This swastika formed naturally on my chest. It was not a tattoo. So, Grandmaster is not a living buddha, Grandmaster is Buddha. One of these days, I will bare my chest to for everyone to see. (Audience laughter and applause)
I was just reminded of a joke, so I’ll share it! This is a joke from Dharma sister Chen Chuang-fang. A young man who stutters took a beautiful girl out on a date to an expensive restaurant. He wore a nice suit and acted as if he was rich to impress her. After they sat down, he told the waiter to bring out the finest wine they have. The waiter thought this guy was rich, so he picked out a couple of expensive bottles. The waiter held one up and told the young man, "This bottle of wine goes for $300 dollars, do you want it?" Stunned, the young man stuttered, "Sure... sure... sure... sure... sure..." Then, waiter quickly opened the bottle. "Sure... surely you’re joking!" was what young man said when he finally managed to finish his sentence. By that time, the waiter was already in the back room talking to another waiter, "Yo, we got a rich guest out there, get him a bottle of Louis XIII, even the one that goes for several thousand dollars per bottle, he’ll take it." Then, the waiter brought out the Louis XIII and asked the young man, "How about this one, do you want it?" Worried about the price of this bottle, the young stuttered, "Err… want... want... want... want..." Then pop, the waiter opened it. “Want to kill me?” was what the young man said when he finally finished his sentence. (Grandmaster and audience all laughed)
There is a reason that I told this joke. You have to pay attention to what Grandmaster has to say, especially the latter part. Grandmaster’s talks sometimes have some concealed meanings and you have to read between the lines. (Audience applause) So, don’t mistakenly think that I was sure…sure...surely joking. Don’t misinterpret my actions or what I said because that would be like want...want... want...wanting to kill this old monk! Please, please, don’t misunderstand and misinterpret things. My character, writings and talks are very, very honest and genuine. (Audience applause)
The Last Two Spiritual Items Needed for Setting Up the Kalachakra Vajrakila Altar
Today, I am going to talk about the Kalachakra Authentic Vajrakila practice.
I already mentioned at the Seattle Temple how to set up the shrine and how to cultivate the practice. You have to obtain five precious spiritual items. The first is powders of human bone. The second is the yellow sap from trees in cemeteries. The third is charcoal that is from cemeteries. Sprinkle the first item on the white mandala sands. Sprinkle the second item on the yellow mandala sands. Sprinkle the third item on the black mandala sands. Now, I will reveal the last two items at Putra Indoor Stadium. (Applause from the audience)
On the red mandala sands, sprinkle red brick powders from a cemetery. This powder must be from red brick soaked with water. On a raining day in the cemetery, this red brick would be soaked in rainwater. What is the last green item? The last green item is leaves from a cemetery. Get some leaves from the trees in a cemetery. Get leaves from as many trees as you can, the more the better. Let the leaves dry and grind them into powders. Sprinkle the powders on the green mandala sands.
You can complete the shrine set up when you obtained all five items. Place the Kalachakra vajrakila in the center. Starting from the bottom to the top, the shrine has representation of earth, water, fire, wind, space, twenty-eight heavens, and Akanistha heaven. Above the Akanistha Heaven place a big blue or black lotus flower. Place a sun and moon disc above the Akanistha Heaven. Put the white mandala sands above the sun and moon disc. Then, insert the Kalachakra vajrakila into the white mandala sands. Then, place the other color mandala sands to the east, south, west, and north. Yellow sands for the east; red sands for the west; black sands for the north; and green sands for the south; these represent the four great continents [of Buddhist cosmology]. Then form subsequent circles of flower, incense, light, tea, fruits. The flower circle represents the eight minor continents. Then, it is the scented ocean, surrounded by light, tea, fruits, and this forms a Kalachakra Vajrakila altar. (Audience applause)
When you are chanting in front of the Kalachakra Vajrakila altar, chant the Kalachakra mantra, and chant it fast, "Om Ha Kamala Walaya Soha." Chant it until you see Kalachakra radiate light of flames, with smoke coming from him, and the Principal Deity Kalachakra appearing before you. At that time, you have achieved yogic union through the Kalachakra practice. You should request Kalachakra to be by your side at all times, assisting with your enterprise to spread the dharma. Vow that when you achieve Buddhahood in the future, all the retinue within the Kalachakra shrine will become Buddhas as well. (Applause from audience)
Everyone please pay attention. This is a very special practice enabling you to achieve yogic union swiftly. After you achieved accomplishment with this practice, the Kalachakra vajrakila becomes a magic wand. You just need to point the vajrakila at a person and chant, "Om Ha Kamala Walaya, hereby ordering so-and-so to take refuge in True Buddha School, Soha," and this person will take refuge! It will be easy to persuade this person to take refuge. Holding the vajrakila, you can order Typhoon Xangsane (a powerful hurricane that hit Taiwan in 2005) to change directions. When I used Kalachakra’s vajrakila and chanted "Om Ha Kamala Walaya, hereby commanding the typhoon to change course, Soha," the typhoon changed its course. (Audience applause)
After achieving yogic union with Kalachakra Vajrakila Practice, you can prevent earthquake by inserting Kalachakra vajrakila from your shrine into the ground and that area will not have earthquakes. Malaysia doesn’t usually have earthquakes, nor does it usually have typhoons. But, what happens if there is a big fire? Hold your vajrakila and point it towards the fire and command, "Om Ha Kamala Walaya, hereby ordering the fire to extinguish, Seh." Or you use this command, "Maha prajna command this fire to extinguish, carry out this command as celestial edict, She." After you use the vajrakila to make the command, a gust of wind will rise up from the earth and blow out the fire.
If there isn’t a sudden gust of wind and the fire is moving towards the side of the street that your house is on, the fire will spread in the opposite direction going away from your residence after you made the order. The fire will not touch your home. Or the fire trucks and fire fighters will arrive on the scene quickly after the order. Basically, there are many benefits. What other problems does Malaysia have? Floods. There certainly could be floods! Hold the Kalachakra vajrakila that you achieved yogic union with and chant the mantra "Om Ha Kamala Walaya, hereby ordering the flood waters to recede." Toss the vajrakila into the floodwater, and then the floodwater will be absorbed into the ground quickly and disappear. The water will quickly recede. (Audience applause)
Let’s use a more unusual example! Aren’t we experiencing global warming? You can give the command "Om Ha Kamala Walaya, hereby requesting the sun to go a bit further from the earth, Soha." Let me tell you, there won’t be global warming. But we can’t survive without the sun, so you can’t ask the sun to go too far away. If the sun moves too far away, everyone in Malaysia will have to wear heavy coats and jackets, and be bundled up like Santa Claus. (Grandmaster and audience laughed)
That is a really powerful application. Why does Kalachakra have that kind of power? Let me tell you, Kalachakra oversees the entire universe. The crossed vajra scepter above his crown has moon and sun discs. Both the moon and sun are under his jurisdiction. So, is there even a planet that is not under Kalachakra’s control? Kalachakra is the universe! (Audience applause)
Ten Rings Symbolize Tenth Level Bodhisattva
Today, Grandmaster is dressed differently. I wear on my head the vajra crown with vajra scepter, which represents the highest Vajrayana siddhi. The two big earrings symbolize accomplishment in Generation Stage and Completion Stage cultivation.
Today, everyone also sees that Grandmaster is wearing rings on all ten fingers. So, does wearing rings on all ten fingers symbolize my status as the Great Blessing Vajra (Vajra who grants great blessings)? Do not misunderstand the symbolism. Those people who know the Kalachakra Tantra will recognize that wearing rings on all ten fingers represent the ten syllables of the Kalachakra mantra! "Om Ha Kamala Walaya Soha." What does it mean to say that these rings signify these ten mantra syllables? These rings represent reaching the stage of a tenth level Bodhisattva. You have reached the stage of a tenth level Bodhisattva. When you are a tenth level Bodhisattva, you’ve attained "Equal Enlightenment!" Ah, that is almost achieving Buddhahood. A step further is "Wondrous Enlightenment." That is Buddhahood. Going from the first to reach the tenth level, wearing these ten rings symbolizes the achievement of a tenth level bodhisattva. Everyone sees that Grandmaster is wearing many adornments like this crown, earrings, and ten rings. These adornments all have symbolic meanings. Those people who truly understand the Kalachakra Tantra will know wearing ten rings represent the achievement of a tenth level Bodhisattva. I am personally seated in the center of the Kalachakra shrine. Kalachakra entered into my body, and I am Kalachakra Buddha. (Applause)
When you have learned this vajrakila practice, you can achieve yogic union swiftly. I hope everyone uses these five spiritual items and cultivate diligently.
I will tell you another joke. A group of animals got together to play mahjong. They played very late into the night and were hungry. They saw that the turtle was just standing there not doing anything, so they asked the turtle to get some late night snacks for them. The turtle was very humble and started crawling slowly to the store. After waiting for two hours, the group grew restless. The turtle was still not back after the third hour and the group began cursing at the turtle. "That damned turtle, that bastard turtle." They cursed at turtle non-stop. The turtle was actually just outside of the door and overheard the ruckus. It shouted back at them, "If you guys keep cursing at me, then I am not going." As it turns out, the turtle only managed to crawl outside the door after three hours.
So, I am letting everybody know that you have to cultivate this sadhana diligently. Don’t be like the turtle and be so slow. You have received instructions and empowerment on this practice. If you don’t diligently cultivate this practice, then the day that you achieve yogic union is as far away as the turtle is from getting to the store. Turtle did accomplish the task because it wasn’t prepared. After you learn this practice, you should practice it diligently. Keep chanting the mantra. Cultivate until you achieve yogic union. At that time, you will have power. Kalachakra will be by your side at all times. Your requests will be fulfilled. That is why Grandmaster is not afraid of being harmed by other people. They can’t kill me. I won’t die unless I want to leave this world. (applause)
Two Kinds of People Cannot Cultivate the Authentic Vajrakila Practice
Although this is a great practice, there are still rules and prohibitions that must be followed. I am telling you, you should not cultivate this practice if you have broken any precepts. You should reflect on whether or not you have violated any precepts. Have you violated any Buddhist precepts or precepts of the Bodhisattva vows since you took refuge in the True Buddha School or since you took the Bodhisattva vows? After you had taken the vow to uphold the five precepts, have you always followed them? Since you received the Vajrayana precepts, have you violated any of the Fourteen Root Vows of Vajrayana? Or violate any of the Fifty Stanzas on Guru Devotion? Did you violate any of them? Don’t cultivate this practice if you have violated them. Otherwise, you will be committing an even more serious violation. If you took the Bodhisattva vows, your heart has to be very good. You need to help sentient beings. If you harbor hatred for other people in your heart, you have violated the precepts. If you have enemies in your heart, you have violated the precepts. You must eliminate your ego and help other people. Now, I am asking everyone. Those people who have not broken any precepts, please raise your hand. Ah, we should have some people with their hand raised. After all this time, all of you are precepts breakers. You see, Grandmaster Lu raised his hand. (Grandmaster and audience laughed)
Grandmaster Lu has never harbored hatred for anyone. Never. Grandmaster never gets jealous of other people. Never. Grandmaster is never envious of other people. Never. Grandmaster also doesn’t have any enemies. Never have. If you are this kind of person, then you naturally will not violate the precepts. If you are such type of a person, please raise your hand. Mr. Chen Jia-ping should raise his hand! He is a very upstanding person and observes filial piety. He is very respectful towards his parents and is an upstanding person. I have never seen such a good person like him before! (Applause) He is sitting in the first VIP row.
What do you do if you violated precepts? Well, none of you can cultivate this practice. Then what is the point of me teaching this practice? Isn’t teaching this practice completely useless? I consulted Kalachakra on this matter. He told me that if you receive Kalachakra empowerment three times, then those offenses are resolved. Three times. You have to receive Kalachakra empowerment three times. Then, then the violations are resolved. Those of you who have broken the precepts, you just have to circumambulate here three times, and your violations are resolved. This was what Kalachakra said. I didn’t come up with it. (Audience applause) This is his solution.
The second kind of person: you cannot cultivate this practice if you associate with people who break precepts or are friends with them. Some people ask me, "How do I know if someone else is breaking the precepts?" After you get to know him for a while, you should know! Whether or not people have broken the precepts, they know themselves. But, it is more difficult if you want to know whether someone else has broken the precepts. But, after you have known someone for a long time, you will know what kind of heart and character that person has. Then you should also know whether or not he has broken precepts. If you associate with them or are friends with them, what do you do? You have to perform a homa and a feast offering. Repent that you were friends or associated with people who have broken the precepts. Then, it is resolved. This is not what I said. This is what Kalachakra told me. (Audience applause)
Another issue is what do you do if you cultivate this practice and you don’t have faith in your root guru, Grandmaster Lu; or you don’t have faith in Kalachakra; or you don’t feel as you are in a good mood when you cultivate this practice? Obtain some Great Compassion Dharani Water, put them in the bathtub, fill it with water and buy some white flowers. For every flower petal, recite "Om Ha Kamala Walaya Soha." Put the flower petals into the tub. When the tub is filled with the white flower petals, go in and take a bath. After being bathed in the combination of Great Compassion Dharani Water, bathing water, and the blessed white flower petal, your mood will be very good when you cultivate the practice again. The combination of the holy water, blessed flower petals and bathing water will eliminate any doubts you have in the root guru or Kalachakra. Then, you will achieve accomplishment in your practice.
Cultivators Who Achieve Siddhi Must Practice Loving Kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity
After you achieve yogic union with this practice, there are many applications. Vajrakila isn’t the only thing that is useful from your shrine. I will share several experiential insights. You should eat at least one of the offering fruits placed in the shrine every day. Then, replenish it. If you brew tea as offering, you should drink at least one cup a day. I have already mentioned how to set up the shrine, how to cultivate the practice and its prohibitions at the Seattle Temple. You can order the DVD from Seattle Temple to find out the details. Combine the details given in Seattle’s talk with the instructions given out today, then you will know what to do.
But, I do have to warn you. You are equivalent to Bodhisattvas and Herukas when you cultivate this practice. Bodhisattvas only help people and do not harm people. You can’t take the red mandala sands, brush it against a beautiful woman, and then say to her, "Om Ha Kamala Walaya, you love me, Soha." Wow! She would fall in love with you! She would follow you anywhere you go! If you abuse this practice in such way to seduce women for personal benefits, you will suffer karmic consequences. You are solely responsible any misdeed and its karmic consequences.
After you perform the Kalachakra Vajrakila practice in your store, sprinkle the yellow mandala sands in the four corners of your store. Then your business would be very successful. If you become wealthy through applying this practice, you have to give back and use these profits for alms and charity. You can’t enjoy the wealth all by yourself. Although your blessing may have increased, there is still a limit. You have to know that giving alms and performing charitable giving will insure you can enjoy all these blessings. If you encounter difficulties or misfortune, sprinkle some white mandala sands on yourself or carry some white mandala sands with you. Then, your misfortunes and difficulties will be pacified. All problems will be eliminated. If you carry the black mandala sands in a pouch with you, all the people who dislike you and have problems with you will leave. The black mandala sands have that effect.
If your friend has illness caused by ghosts or spiritual interference, take some white mandala sands from your shrine and chant "Om Ha Kamala Walaya, hereby ordering the ghosts which are causing this illness to depart, Soha." Then, toss these white sands on your friend, and he/she will get better. Even the offering water, tea, fruits, and flowers placed in the shrine, all of them have applications. All of them have dharma power that can be applied. So, the Kalachakra practice is a Vajrayana rite that has endless applications. (Audience applause)
Although you possess incredible amounts of dharma power through applying the Kalachakra Authentic Vajrakila practice, you must carefully consider the karmic consequences whenever you apply this rite. If you are helping people, then you should provide as much assistance as you can. You have to have compassion for sentient beings and practice loving kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. As I explained, compassion is a skillful means to assist sentient beings. You have to attain Kalachakra’s wisdom. Wisdom is the mother. Skillful means is the father. Only through the dual application of compassion and wisdom will you reach the fruition of the Tathagata. Those people who are studying Buddha-dharma must understand skillful means, wisdom, compassion, and understand the dual application of compassion and wisdom.
There are many mantras for applying this practice. I stayed in solitary retreat for about six years. When I returned to Seattle, the volcano at Mount St. Helens was active. Smoke was coming out of it every day, and it was about to erupt. I felt compassion for the people in the area of Washington and Oregon state. Hence, I performed the Kalachakra practice, "Om Ha Kamala Walaya Soha, Hereby ordering Mount St. Helens to stop erupting." I took a couple of offering fruits from my Kalachakra Shrine and gave it to people who lived in the area of Mount St. Helens. I instructed them to place fruits around Mount St. Helens. After they placed the fruits around Mount St. Helens, the volcano stopped rumbling. Mount St. Helens is an active volcano, but it stopped rumbling after offering fruits from Kalachakra shrine was tossed around it. (Audience applause)
One day during my solitary retreat, I went to Golden Mother of the Jade Pond’s palace. She gave me a small white paper bag. I asked her what was this paper bag for? She said you would find out when you return to the human realm. This small paper bag flew out and transformed into a huge bag, completely enveloping Taiwan, Hong Kong, and several Southeast Asian countries when I descended from heaven. After that day, the SARS epidemic was contained. (Audience applause)
During my time in retreat, I stayed in Taiwan for three and a half years. Every year, ten to twenty typhoons formed and headed towards Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan or China. During those three and a half years, Grandmaster didn’t apply any practice, did not apply the Kalachakra practice. But Grandmaster has many dharma protectors by his side at all times, and during that three and a half years after Typhoon Xangsane left, no typhoon hit Taiwan. All of them turned away. (Audience applause)
Typhoon Krosa headed towards Taiwan as I returned to Taiwan this time. I thought I would finally encounter a typhoon again! It turns out that the typhoon moved faster than I did. By the time my plane arrived, the typhoon had already left. I was only here to see the aftermath. Of course, I heard that there was Typhoon Lingling heading Taiwan’s way. I said that I am in Taiwan right now. The typhoon then lost strength and was no longer a typhoon. (Audience applause)
I feel really sorry for Japan because almost all the typhoons during those three and a half years turned toward Okinawa and Japan. Japanese, I am sorry. Vajra Acharya Jing-xiang is from Japan. Also, Shenghu Lianhua Yizhong is a dharma instructor from Japan. During the 1995 Kobe earthquake, something extraordinary happened to her altar. The devastation caused by the earthquake destroyed all the buddha and bodhisattva statues in her home altar except the statues of Padmakumara. She thought that was really strange. All the statues in her altar were destroyed. But, the Padmakumara statue somehow jumped out of her window and landed on the lawn. The statue wasn’t damaged at all. The Padmakumara statue was alive! (Audience applause) This was because Padmakumara is not a living buddha, he is a Buddha! (Audience applause)
Grandmaster Will Authenticate the Future Living Buddhas of True Buddha School
I believe "khenpo" is the Tibetan word for abbot. Every Tibetan monastery has at least one tulku. That is the case for monasteries in small Tibetan villages. The major Tibetan monasteries have several tulkus. Like Badghar Monastery, it had Kanjurwa Khutughtu among others. Labrang Monastery (a Gelugpa monastery in Gansu province, China) has Jamyang-zhaypa, Gungthang Rinpoche among its five great tulkus. A rinpoche once asked Grandmaster Lu, "Were you born in Tibet in your previous lives? If you had a history of reincarnating in Tibet and someone authenticates you, then you are a tulku/living buddha. If you don’t have this history, then you are not a tulku/living buddha." Someone had approached me and wanted to authenticate me as a tulku. He said, "I will authenticate you, Grandmaster Lu. You only need to donate money to help rebuild our monastery, just one monastery. Then, I would authenticate you as the reincarnation of a particular great tulku." I told him that I don’t need to be a living buddha. I am buddha and that was good enough. (Audience and Grandmaster laughed, Audience applause)
Let me tell you. Today, I discovered that Vajra Acharya Lian-bao’s son is a reincarnated tulku. His son has some prominent past history. (Audience applause) In the future, our True Buddha School will have several living buddhas. Grandmaster is not a living buddha, Grandmaster is Buddha. (Audience laughter and applause)
Our True Buddha School has many living buddhas. When you have children in the future, bring them to see Grandmaster. Let Grandmaster examine them to see if they are living buddhas. I will introduce one now. This is the Himalaya-kumara from Indonesia. Please stand up. Himalaya-kumara is very special because only people who have taken monastic vows can be a vajra acharya. Her head is not shaved, so how can she be a vajra acharya? This is because Vajra Acharya Thubten Dargye (Grandmaster’s Gelugpa guru) authenticated her as a vajra acharya. She has histories of reincarnation. She is a living buddha. Many lifetimes ago, she was Shakyamuni Buddha! She is a Rinpoche. (Audience applause)
In the future, whenever vajra acharyas of our school reincarnate, they will all be rinpoches. Several of them are already rinpoches. I’m just afraid to reveal it. They would think they are big shots and the greatest as soon as I reveal it. Then to them, guru would become small like a little pinky finger. So, it is best not to inflate their egos, because as soon as you do that, they’ll want to form their own school. (Grandmaster laughed)
Practitioners Who Achieve Siddhi Must Bear the Karmic Consequences for Applying This Practice
Do you have any questions? This person asked, after receiving the Kalachakra Vajrakila empowerment, could you eat beef? Real accomplished Vajrayana practitioners and yogis, they can deliver the spirits of the animals they eat to the Pure Land. So, what is there that they can’t eat? Vajrayana practitioners can eat anything. (Audience applause) You have to eat some vegetables, so you don’t have an unbalanced diet.
Grandmaster achieved siddhi with this practice. This is because Kalachakra and I are one. Now, the ten rings on my fingers represent a tenth level Bodhisattva. Herukas are with me. I achieved yogic union with Kalachakra, I can confer the Kalachakra empowerment and the Kalachakra Vajrakila empowerment. With regards to all vajra acharyas, some of them haven’t cultivated this practice. After they have cultivated this practice and genuinely reached siddhi, then they can confer the empowerment for Kalachakra’s Authentic Vajrakila practice. This is okay. But, if you haven’t achieved siddhi but claim you have achieved siddhi, you have to bare the karmic consequences. Do you understand? (Audience applause)
Vajra Acharya Lian-xiang is an incarnation of Palden Lhamo. Grandmaster knows the Palden Lhamo Wish Fulfillment Practice, "Om Maha-shi-li-ye Soha," and achieved yogic union through the practice. I first attained yogic union with the Golden Mother of the Jade Pond, "Om Jinmu siddhi hum." I also achieved siddhi with Amitabha Buddha "Om Ah-mee deh-wah seh." Then I achieved yogic union with Manjushri Bodhisattva, "Om ah la ba za na di," and then I achieved yogic union with Yamantaka, "Om Yama da-ga, hum, pei." Then, I achieved yogic union with Kalachakra, "Om Ha Kamala Walaya Soha" and achieved union with the Five Herukas. I achieved union with the Five Dhyani Buddhas, the Five Herukas, the eight great Bodhisattvas, the Eight Herukas, and many wish fulfillment practices.
Grandmaster does not wish to harm anyone. If I want to harm someone, I only need to toss some torma. What is torma? A lot of the offerings today are torma. I can hurt someone if I toss some torma, mandala sands, or vajrakila. Then, I can guide the person to Manjusri’s Pure Land, Padmakumara’s Pure Land, the Shambhala Pure Land, Zangdok Palri Pure Land (Padmasambhava’s Pure Land), or Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s Bluish-green Sublime Pure Land. I can hurt people, but I don’t do it. Grandmaster practices loving kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. I emulate Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva’s compassion, Manjusri Bodhisattva’s wisdom, and Vajrapani Bodhisattva’s dharma power. (applause)
Does anybody have any more questions? For the white mandala sands in the center, the secret spiritual item is human bone powders; to Akshobhya Buddha to the east, you put in the yellow-colored tree sap; to Amitabha Buddha to the west, put the red brick powders; to Amoghasiddhi Buddha to the north, you use the black charcoal; to Ratnasambhava Buddha to the south, you use the green leaf powders. These five items all come from cemeteries. Why does Vajrayana use these items? By using human bone mala, it will generate spiritual power. Using a human skin drum will generate spiritual power; using a khatvanga, or using a skull to hold the five nectars will generate spiritual power; use three skulls and vertebrae to make a khatvanga, and it will have spiritual power. All of the daka/dakinis (sky dancers) and dharma protectors - they all use human bones as adornments. This is one of the secret principles of Vajrayana. (Audience applause)
Today, I have specially revealed this secret principle. This is the rarest of the rare. Don’t think that these spiritual items are filled with ghost energy or you will be possessed if you cultivate the practice. Let me ask you, which person is not a ghost!? There will be a day when you can’t draw in your next breath. People will call you ghosts when you can’t draw that next breath. We are cultivators of Buddha-dharma. Ghosts have a small amount of power, gods have great power. Those who control their natural birth and death are called immortals. Those who can come and go spontaneously, severed all afflictions, transcended all hindrance, and severed all habitual tendencies are called Buddha. (Audience applause)
You think ghosts are a big deal? I’ll tell you that this sports stadium is filled with ghosts! Are you going to get possessed when you go home? That’s not going to happen! When I confer the empowerment a bit later, you will become very holy. Then, you don’t need to be afraid of anything. I am the leading authority on catching ghosts. If you have ghost problem, come ask me for help. Sheng-yen Lu is sitting here and announcing that whatever tricks you ghosts have, bring them all; whatever mischief, go ahead and try them. When you are one with Kalachakra, Kalachakra is by your side every day. He stomps on the rulers of Akanistha heavens, and tames all twenty-eight heavens. He stands above Akanistha heaven. When you can tame the gods of these heavens, what is there under the heavens that you need to be afraid of? (Audience applause) Okay, thank you everyone.
