追求Pursue

隨著科技日益更新，不斷的進步，人們追求電子化的日常生活用品，似乎不曾中斷過。從最新型的手機功能、電動按摩椅、無限寬頻筆記型電腦；到多功能微波爐、影印傳真機等等。這些產品給予人們生活上的方便，相信沒有人不會心動。只是在「適可而止，不再盲目追求」的拿捏上，對每個人都是一種考驗吧！「追求、追逐」的英文可以用〝pursue〞 (noun 名詞) 來表示。

盧勝彥大師在其文集「清風小語」 書內文章「人性與佛性」經常提醒大家，別讓欲望支配我們不停的去追求物質，夠用就是最好：

「釋迦牟尼佛告訴我們，『苦』及『墮落』的根源，全是因為渴愛追求欲望的享受而來。世人不明白佛陀的宣告，卻把追求欲望享受的滿足當成快樂，一直的追尋不休，就算死至臨頭也不會放手，世人大半是如此的。」英譯如下：

〝Shakyamuni Buddha told us that the root of all suffering and decadence, stems from the yearning to pursue the enjoyment of human desires. Ignorant of Buddha's proclamation, mankind continues to pursue the enjoyment of desires relentlessly, considering the fulfillment of such pursuit as happiness. Majority of people will never give up on their blind pursuits, even when death beckons them at their doorsteps.〞 (Translated by Padmakumara Translation Team)
