A farmer's son was returning from the market with the crate of chickens his father had entrusted to him, when all of a sudden the box fell and broke open. Chickens scurried off in different directions,but the boy managed to scoop up the wayward birds.

一名農夫的兒子帶著爸爸交給他的一籠活雞從市場走回家，半路上突然不小心把雞籠摔在地上。雞籠打開後，裡面的雞四處亂竄，但男孩設法把走散的雞都抓回來。

The boy reluctantly returned home and confessed,"The chickens got loose, but I managed to find all twelve of them."

男孩心情低落的回到家，主動向爸爸承認：「雞都跑了，可是我把全部12隻都抓回來。」

"Good job, son," the farmer beamed. "You left with seven."

他父親很高興的說：「幹得好。你出發的時候只有七隻雞。」
