這位鋼琴女詩人描述的，正是煩擾許多人的兩難問題：走，還是留？

歌詞的大意是：她日子過得百無聊賴，甚至覺得槁木死灰，這樣下去怎麼受得了？好不容易打定主意要離開，才走出門，你的深情牽絆又把她留住。欲走還留間，傾聽暗處傳來聲聲勾魂的鋼琴聲，心已飛走，身留原地，兩股力量反覆拉扯下，只能無奈垂淚。

但這次心軟留下來，不表示她下次不會走...外面傳來的浪漫琴聲是何其悠揚，千般誘惑，教多情的她如何消受？同樣的原型主題，從《麥迪遜之橋》到《時時刻刻》，出現在不計其數的文學作品裡。

在詩的國度裡，多的是「自始至終愛你不渝」的描寫。但現實生活中，「從一而終、相守到老」的愛戀，不能說沒有，但至少是可遇而不可求。 一旦戀情由熾烈轉為平淡、或甚至可能奏出驚悚的變調曲時，就是雙方認真考慮去留的時候了。

離開的理由千百種，有時根本不需理由。 多少人因為承受不了分離的痛苦而做出傻事、錯事、憾事。成熟的人，即使萬般難過，也該有風度地尊重對方的選擇。好聚好散吧！
