這支John Hartford在1967年自寫自唱的歌曲
贏得1968年四項格蘭美獎，
包括最佳民歌表演獎與最佳鄉村歌曲作曲獎。
而由另一位鄉村歌手Glen Campbell所唱的版本
則贏得最佳鄉村歌曲表演獎，與最佳鄉村歌曲錄音獎。
後來這首歌成為Glen Campbell的招牌歌曲之一。

傳說John Hartford看了電影《齊瓦哥醫生》之後，
回憶自己的一段情，有感而發，
三十分鐘內寫完的一首歌。
在人生的路途中有這麼一位
能夠接納、又值得臆想的好友
是有福的。
