The 13th day of December eight-three years ago when Jap army occupied Nanjing, then the capital of China, the bestial soldiers started to execute a schemed massacre of Chinese people, and three hundred thousand civilians and soldiers who had already laid down their weapon were killed in forty days. The day is an indelible mark of humiliation in modern China; as always, flags are flown at half-mast in Nanjing today, the day that shall never be forgotten. History tells us that a nation "will be beaten if it falls behind". Now China has been back to the top in this post-industrial era, at least within Asia. But I guess China will not launch a military action against Jap in reprisal for what it did, as long as it has quite a self-knowledge of being a pliant neighbor beside China again. https://m.gmw.cn/toutiao/2020-12/13/content_1301934726.htm?tt_group_id=6905559181995016718 |
