I am not a TV "soap opera chaser" myself, not at all.  You know, I do not feel like watching those popular "palace" or "idol" dramas of Mainland China, let alone those from Japan or South Korea. 

At 8pm, the prime time, my wife would watch her favorite series of TV drama in living room, where is also my massage chair laid.  Usually I do fast walking before dinner at Bihu Park or Dahu Park in my neighborhood almost everyday, so after dinner around 8 I would sit on the chair to take some "recreation" on my body.  Therefore I have to watch the dramas with her for a while, though not that enjoyably.

But now I am happy to finish all four modules on the massage chair( each one for 15 minutes) as to watch the subject drama with my wife.  The series illustrates the way toward success for a country girl from poor family.  Well, it has yet to come to the denouement, but I guess it is a film of motivational encouragement, teaching people how to get out of poverty on their own right.  Now getting out of poverty and entering into a society of moderate well-being is one of the front burners for China.  (How about the issue of Taiwan?  Not that important as long as the islanders do not tread on the red line.)

I admire the natural performance of the protagonist  "春草" in the film.  She is not a pretty actress, absolutely not an idol-styled figure, but her vivid performance will capture your heart for sure.  (I do not know if the series is available online now, but you can watch it on MUCH TV weekdays at 8pm.)
