１９８０年　美國靈魂樂女王艾瑞莎富蘭克林（Aretha Franklin）跳槽Arista唱片　開始積極復出

１９８０年９月, ３８歲半的富蘭克林推出在新東家的首張作品──事業第２６張錄音室大碟［Aretha］──這是她事業第二次此為專輯名稱

主要由Chuck Jackson＆Arif Mardin製作

艾瑞莎也擔任一曲的共同製作人（Co-producer）, 樂評中上

首支主打是１０月發行的［United Together／聯合一起］

此曲由Phil Perry＆Chuck Jackson譜寫, 後者製作成靈魂／成人流行曲

在緩慢的節奏間, 艾瑞莎的豐滿嗓音以溫柔婉約的方式演繹

［United Together］打入Billboard單曲榜＃５６──這是她三年來首支入榜單曲

另拿到副榜－靈魂榜＃３

雖然大碟與單曲成績差強人意, 但至少比在Atlantic末期進步
