Things aren't going very well for me this morning. Everything messed up!

Unfortunately I have to blame it on the weather, which I've found great connection between us. Reaching out from the window to meet not the warmth of sunshine, but the coolness of damp air can never give me the feeling of rebirth at the beginning of the day. I thought all these relationships between the weather and I were merely imaginations, (After all, how can one's emotion be controlled by all weather?) but now I think it's time to face the truth. Actually, I did the calculation. And I've found that in sunny days I have EIGHT TIMES possibility than in cloudy and rainy days to be in a good mood.

Trust me, it's not a joke.

Now I'm happy that I actually live in Taichung, where I enjoy sunshine and breezes often, but stay in Taipei, where I suffer from hatred for rain and temperature below ten.

As for the other things that trouble me, well, I guess you won't be interested in them.

I visited the Eslite Bookstore last night. I was glad to find that there were quite lot of people, half were adults and half were children, but I was at the same time disappointed to find it hard to seek myself a seat.

I found a book that's quite intriguing. It's not a novel. Instead, it's more likely to be a historical narrative, but a interesting one, the one that even inspired a history hater like me.

Ying Tai, Lung's Big River Big Sea, 1949 is a book telling the story that happened to the people of her parents' generation. In 1949, the National Troops were forced to fall back to Taiwan; the political situation was altered for good; millions of families were separated for decades, for some, it's forever.

Although I haven't finished the whole book, but so far I've found this book a good one and worth of recommendations. She didn't go with the tone of an old respectable nor that of a spokesman of the authority. Surprisingly, I don't feel stressed while reading this book. The contest is bland, yet profound. The words are flat, yet soul-provoking.

At the preface, there are sentences that impressed me and had since haunted me. "There is no winner in a war. We all are losers. I'm proud of being a loser." I think they deserve to be thought twice.

    Have a good day!
