Seeing Avatar

After like 100 years, I finally went to another movie after Troy this morning. Yeah, you probably have guessed it, the Avatar. I have to say, from the bottom of the heart, this movie is FANTASTIC!

I knew the movie from the Front Row, which Mac users would definitely be well acquainted with, even before the trail showed up on TV. Actually, at first sight, I think of it nothing but a pure commercial film, which features special effects and fancy animations and the only purpose the film is released is providing the makers buckets of cash.

Last month, my roommates happened to go to the movie Avatar separately at the same weekend, which is a wonder of coincidence. They all thought of it a masterpiece and told me that I shouldn't go to another movie before I give Avatar a shot. Mr. Bed D even told me that after seeing Avatar, he'd rest in peace…

So, there I was, going for the movie I barely believed I could be "touched," since I've seen more movies than that of three of them could add up. I went to the theater in a department store in Taichung with my brother this morning, half excited but half worried, hoping to have my eyes wide opened.

    And I did.

I have to say, this movie could be the best animated action movie I've ever seen! (Don't think of it inferior to Trans***mer, which is a typical commercial film.) One can never feel bored during the whole movie. You can easily tell that Avatar is a movie project made of huge budget.

The movie isn't merely featuring the sensory excitement. Review the movie and you'll find yourself discovering the message from the film. For long, we've been whipping out everything that is in our way. We terminate forests for agriculture, rivers for dams, and fertile soil for transportation, all in the name of civilization development. But we never stop to think about the world after our devastation, to give thank to the Mother Nature who's given all we need.

Shameless, we ask for more. We took everything for granted and let our greed reign over ourselves. Perhaps it's time that we thought about what lessons should've been learned but ignored, and when our mouths shall be dribbled with environmental protection but politics and cash.
