第一次聽到這首歌時是由莎菈布萊曼所翻唱的，那時還不太能體會歌中涵意。直到有一次無意間又重看了"Highlander"時(中文好像翻譯成”時空英豪”，後來又拍成了電視影集。）又在影片中聽到了這首歌，也才知道其原主唱者是"Queen(皇后）合唱團"；也是皇后合唱團特別為這部電影所作的主題曲。當時的場景是Connor（他是個永世不死的古蘇格蘭戰士）依舊是個年輕力壯的壯年人，但是他的愛妻卻已是年老色衰，滿頭白髮且已病入膏肓的老婆婆，他必須眼睜睜的看著他所心愛的人離他而去，且這種事會生生世世不斷的上演著，此情景再加上Queen主唱Fredde Mercury 獨特的歌聲時，頓時讓我有種想哭的衝動；也明瞭這首主題曲中的涵意了。

身為一個永世不死的人，時間及空間對他們來說都已不再重要，因為他們的愛終有結束的時候，他們都註定要生生世世承受親人的生離死別，，要永遠忍受生命的孤寂。如此一來，又有誰想要長生不朽呢？

後記：我們常說生命無常，人生苦短，所以惟有把握現在，活在當下才不枉此生啊！
