被英國的狗仔隊發現有自我傷害和暴食、厭食問題的黛安娜王妃，也同樣多虧了狗仔隊的報導，人們才知道黛安娜王妃其實接受過很長的治療。有一張偷拍的照片，剛好就是黛安娜正步出診所後門，而她的女精神分析師站在門口送她出門。

幾年以後，大家都看到黛安娜王妃的改變。她不再是天真無邪的小女生，而是成熟嫻靜，永遠可以真心微笑的女人。她不再在乎查理王子的婚外情，而是跟威廉、哈利兩位小王子有更多親密的互動，也開始參加有關兒童福利和反對地雷等武器的諸多公共事務，甚至也開始追求自己的愛情了。

雖然黛安娜不幸車禍身亡，但她去世以前的種種跡象都顯示，自我傷害行為不僅可以治癒，而且隨著病情的改善，個人也更成熟，心靈更提升。

其實，我覺得，黛安娜走過婚姻破滅的痛楚，努力活出自己的能量，並且善用她的正面形象，向世界付出人道關懷的溫暖；她曾經坐到了一個愛滋病患者的病床上，握住了他的手。她告訴了世界愛滋病患者需要的不是隔離，而是熱心和關愛。

對於戴妃來說，她追求的只有一個：那就是愛與被愛.
