This was the last day of the internship. Started it from uncle Paul's house. To be honest, I ever had such a great breakfast! Those cakes and steamed buns are handmade by Lily. She is marvelous!! A happy family photo~~Thank you Uncle Paul and Lily!!! The next one is The Twin Oaks Estate. It was the Embassy of Taiwan(R.O.C.) once before 1979. Twin Oaks, situated on 18.1 acres, was built 1888 by Gardiner Greene Hubbard, a wealthy lawyer and founder of the National Geographic Society. In 1947, the government of the Republic of China purchased the Twin Oaks from Grace Hubbard, whose farther is the lawyer, as the official residence of each successive ROC ambassador. Despite of on the construction, the house appearance was impressed. The reason why we call it Twin Oaks is that there are two oaks planted in front of the house, like guards. Due to the beautiful scene, many people took a lot of photos. To my surprise, there was a amiable girl whose camera was the same as mine, so we took each other, making cameras a kiss hello!! haha~ After that my internship was finished. During the internship, we received the encouragement and help from the Chinese elders in America. I am proud of being Taiwanese despite of the helpless on the international and the illegibility on the historical. However the 12 time-zone distance gain the warmness of the Taiwanese. Thanks every Taiwanese here in US for your kind and generosity. |
