My daughter said today´s school topic is what you want to be in the future. We all had this topic during primariy school writing. I hurried up to ask what you want to be , Ann? My daughter said: a doctor. OH, good! I like it, and why? Doctor can make money by writing a paper. How about your classmates? OH! Lubisa wants to be a police woman and Justin wants to be a taxi driver! Last time, in Taipei, I intentionally picked a taxi driven by a woman, since I think she must need money otherwise, she normally doesn´t take this job in Taiwan society. I don´t mind wasting some more time for waiting on the street, though. The lady driver told me that for some reason she lost two houses in the south of Taiwan and her husband also just lost his job. Therefore, this couple came to Taipei taking the taxi drivers job and run that car 24 hours a day, now they are gaining back inch by inch their normal life. This kind of Taiwanese hard working and brave story always makes me moved a lot, since my parents had done the same for us! So, I think it is good for her business if I book her car to the CKS airport for the next few days way back to Europe, but she said she has been booked then , funny enough also to airport! I think no wonder she has good business due to her open, courageous and optimistic personality and I wish her best. In Taiwan, it seems we tend to tell our kid some job is MEI-CHU-SI(hard to translate into English), no wonder we have many people are unable to be happy at their decent job and in the end , we may all face some angry taxi dirver, bus driver or street cleaners and so on. That day, on the high way to the airport, there is a taxi driven by a lady, running beside mine ,seemed talking happily to her back-seat customer. Wait a minute, it´s HER!, and she also recognizes me , we don´t know how to express our happiness to see each other again on these totally unexpected a few minutes. We waved hands good-bye, god bless her and her business. (still, it is hard for me to believe that glimpse) |
