I am not sure of your accusation of Ma's policy.  I am also no expert of economics of Taiwan.  Only thing I can say is Taiwan is a rich little country full of rich people.  The best investment right now for them is real estate, considering low interests and shaky stock market.   This drives the boom of the housing market in Taiwan.

I would prefer this way than what we have in US and many other markets where housing marker tanks.  How lucky you Taiwanese are?!

Housing is a key part of sector of an economy.  Your economy is in a good shape.

As to people who can not affored housing, in my view, they should work harder.  I am a capitalist, not socialist, by the way.
