有兩件事我確定

她是由天上下凡

她也是爹地的小女孩

當我在夜晚跪在她的床邊

她向耶穌禱告時

我閉上眼睛向上帝感謝

賜給我生命裡所有的喜樂

喔！但最重要的是

 

為了睡前禱告後的蝶吻

在她的頭髮上綴滿白色小花

爹地陪我在小馬旁走

這是我第一次騎馬

我知道這蛋糕看起來有點奇怪

但我已經盡力了

喔！我曾做過那麼多錯事

一定也做了一些好事

才值得她每天一早的愛

和夜晚的蝶吻

 

今日長到甜蜜的十六歲

她長的就像她媽媽

每天越來越像

部分是女人

部分還是小女孩

由絲帶和髮捲

到香水和化妝

試著在大千世界裡展翅飛舞

但我記得

 

睡前禱告後的蝶吻

在她的頭髮上綴了許多小白花

爹地 你知道我有多愛你

但是你若不在意

這次我只吻你的臉頰

 

這些珍貴的時間

像風一般的飄去

珍貴的蝴蝶

展開你的翅膀飛吧

 

她今天要出嫁

她會答應婚約而我要將她送出

站在新娘房注視著她

她問我在想什磨

我說我也茫然

我只是知道我將要失去我的小女孩

然後她依偎過來

 

在她媽媽前給我蝶吻

附記：參加過許多的婚禮，見到女方家長，特別是父親，在將女兒的手交到新郎的手裡，那種依依不捨，卻又不得不放手的神情時，我就想起這首「蝶吻」Butterfly Kisses的歌曲。我沒有女兒，因此少了這種甜蜜的痛苦。但是若未來看到孫女結婚，也許我也會有更深的體會。此曲由Bob Carlisle所作和演唱，中文由曾渙釗試譯。2013/02/13
