People are ashamed but never satisfied, animals are satisfied but never ashamed, and criminals are neither embarrassed nor satisfied. Propriety, righteousness, integrity, and shame are the four pillars that make up humanity. The most terrifying person is one who has no shame and is still self-righteous. Timing is key in communication. Knowing when to speak a kind word and when to withhold a harmful one is a fundamental skill that can greatly enhance our interactions with others. We must learn not to interrupt or babble but to think before speaking. This will enable you to become more considerate and better spoken. We must never put ourselves in a position where we regret speaking out of a desire to show off and end up saying the wrong thing. It is important to remember that it is impossible to unsay what you have said. Once water is spilled, it cannot be retrieved. It is especially important to be careful when engaging in workplace communications.
