It's Friday night, don't just sit there. Let's go to a Vietnamese restaurant and eat some PHO!! As some people might not know how to pronounce it, the correct pronounciation is fuh. Pho is usually served beef or chicken, but majority is beef. The making of pho can take several of hours. The broth is generally made by simmering beef bones and various spices like star anise, cinnamon, roasted ginger and onion, clove and others. There are many variations that you can use: slim cuts of beef (steak, flank, tendon and brisket) and chicken. Vietnamese food typically are served with lots of greens, herbs, vegetables, and several other accompaniments such as dipping sauces, hot and spicy pastes and flavor enhancements. The most common garnish for pho are: basil, bean sprouts, mint, green/white onions, cilantro and lime/lemon wedges. |
