It was the first time I cooked taro. I never wanted to cook it since it looked like a very distant person who I would not wish to connect with. Why made me change my mind? My father gave 2 taroes to me about 2 weeks ago. Now it looked gradually not so fresh and it was too wasteful to throw it away. I peeled and steamed it yesterday and had it this morning. Wow. The taro is soft and sweet. The best thing of all, it contains less calories than rice and provides a lot of fibers for better digestion according to studies.
