New Year's Resolution in 2002

Dear Clair:

A year has finally come to an end. It also means that the New Year is coming. The New Year brings a whole new outlook on life. As a Chinese proverb goes “Plans of the year should be set up in spring, the best time of the day is morning.” It’s time to remember your successes and put your failures to rest. As we know everyone wants to learn from mistakes but not to repeat them. So it’s high time to take this advantage to make a brand-new start and declare a New Year’s resolution.

I would like to share you with some personal goals that are set to change something for the better. Besides, I also want to make new goals or take on new challenges. Moreover, I want to quit some bad habits.

Here are my New Year’s Resolutions:

1.      Go on a diet.

2.      Exercise regularly.

3.      Save money for myself.

4.      Read at least one book in a week. (Fifty- two books a year.)

5.      Play my own roles well. (Teacher, daughter, sister, aunt, student, friend, colleague.)

6.      Sleep more. Rest more.

7.      Don’t worry, be happy.

8.      Hold positive attitude toward life.

9.      Spend more time with my family members.

10.  Travel overseas with my family.

11.  Pick up some Japanese.

12.  Spend some time rearranging my books.

13.  Develop a habit of keeping my room clean and neat.

14.  Find my Mr. Right.

Doing all these things could be difficult, but a good start is better than no start at all.

How about your New Year’s Resolutions?

May your resolutions come true.

                                                 Love yours,

                                                      Helen
