In 1988 our family were taking a vacation to Las Vegas
on Saturday.
I did not expect Vegas would be so crowded that I could not
find any vacant Casino hotels. Exhausted and almost gave
it up by returning home, there at end of the Strip Bl. I spotted
a small size motel without "no vacancy" sign. I sighed and told
my self how lucky I was. I checked in with my family of
4 including my wife daughter and son.
The motel was old with linen rusty and bath room without
hot water. Mari did not want to stay but it was over midnight
we didn't have another choice. We paid $100 for a rest on the
bed spread without taking hot shower because shower was not
working. We checked out the next morning without any
complaining because I knew it was purely,
"Demand & Supply" theory. It was our choice.
Now I am operating a small motel of that same size.
This morning on Aug 5th, 2007 I was approached by an old
couple checking-out in the car and handed me the key
"Hey, Mike, "
"good morning! I greeted both courteously."
"The hot water was not working in the sink."
"Let me check it out."
"No. we are checking out. Any way the hot shower was warm
and it was not hot enough . Besides, you did not provide even
ice in the motel. We paid $100 for this kind service. We demand
some kind of discount!"
" Sorry, Madam, after you stayed we could not offer any refund."
The husband was silent and ready to take off in the car.
"This is highway robbery!" the senior lady in the car was accusing me.
That remark reminded me almost immediately of the experience in
1988 staying that Vegas motel.
I could not help laughing Haha...
I become a highway robber!
" And you are laughing......" they took off helplessly.
