American Businesses like to sponsor charity event. First of all, it builds a nice image for the company. Secondly, the expenses are tax deductible. So in summer 2006, my previous employer signed us up for the Community Service Day in an Orange County shelter hosting abused children. Our job was to clean and paint the facility, making it look really nice for the kids.

It was a hot summer day! Almost everyone from the branch office came. Even the pregnant and the disabled came to help prepare food. Our team was assigned to paint the exterior of a dorm.
