A journalist assigned to the Jerusalem bureau takes an apartment overlooking the Wailing Wall.
一位派駐耶路撒冷當局的女記者,下榻在一棟剛好可以俯瞰{哭牆}的公寓裡
Every day when she looks out, she sees an old Jewish man praying vigorously.
每天當她往窗外看時,她都會看到一位猶太老先生充滿活力地在牆邊禱告
So, the journalist goes down and introduces herself to the old man.
所以,女記者決定下樓並向老者自我介紹
She asks, "You come every day to the wall. How long have you done that, and what are you praying for?"
她問道:"您每天都到哭牆邊.您這樣做有多久了? 而您都在為何事禱告呢?
The old man replies, "I have come here to pray every day for 25 years. In the morning I pray for world peace and then for the brotherhood of man. I go home, have a cup of tea, and I come back and pray for the eradication of illness and disease from the earth."
老先生答道:"我每天來牆邊禱告已經超過25年了.每天早晨我為世界和平祈禱,接著為全人類祈福.然後我回家,喝杯茶,再回到牆邊,為撲滅全球疫病而繼續祈福.
The journalist is amazed. "How does it make you feel to come here every day for 25 years and pray for these things?" she asks.
女記者深受感動,繼續問道:"您每天都來牆邊為這些事情祈禱超過25年了,您的感覺如何呢?"
The old man looks at her sadly.
老人憂傷地注視著她,說道:
"Like ~~~
I'm talking to a wall."
"感覺~~~
就像我在對一堵牆說話一樣"
