When the former Soviet Union launched its satellite "Sputnik" for the first time in human history, Americans were shocked. I remember the reports that then-US President Eisenhower was even induced to have a heart attack. However, then much wealthier America, with its overwhelming industrial capability, soon regained supremacy in the competition between the two countries.

Now, America would face an even more intractable competitor: China, a superpower with more talent in holistic industrial items. There will be more "Sputnik" times that confront America. Please see the article below.
