The other day a DPP "legislator" interrogated Ministry of Examination why does the Chinese language taken in the examinations of civil servants contain so much classic but "useless" material.  He then suggested Chinese language be removed from the examinations because all the test takers have learned so many years in Chinese at schools, so there will be no need to test them anymore.  That was part of DPP evil scheme in De-China.

Almost in the same time, a professor of Peking University, Mr. Yao Yang 姚洋 was calling for removing English as a subject in the joint examination for college entrance, or Gao Kao, in China Mainland.  Professor Yao argued the gap between youngsters in cities and rural places regarding the time and money spent in English learning is quite large.  Therefore, it is not fair to all students in equal education.  FYI, the similar callings have emerged for years in China Mainland. 

The point is: either in Taiwan or in Mainland, people must use Chinese to communicate among one another, in spoken or written way.  Just let professional translators or AI do the communication between Chinese and English for us.
