草樹知春不久歸，

Grasses and plants sense that the spring will be soon leaving,

百般紅紫斗芳菲。

so all of them strive to contend in beauty particularly appealing.

楊花榆莢無才思，

Even those plain willow catkins and elm flowers join into

惟解漫天作雪飛。

the party by showing themselves off like snow flakes flying.
