悪人先告狀?

Yesterday I invited you to learn an expression of "此地無銀三百兩" in English.  The idiom let me think of some absurd, insubstantial statements against China made by American media in these days.  Wall Street Journal first used prejudiced appellation "China Sick Man", and now FOX NEWS declared that China owed an apology to other countries for bringing COVID-19 to the rest of the world.  Now those vicious attacks made me think of another Chinese idiom: 悪人先告狀。(FYI, there is a counterattack from that graceful and elegant reporter Liu Xin of CCTV: "To the Fox News host who demands China to apologize: Please cut the nonsense and focus on the real issue of the day: How to save lives. Those who abuse their power to advocate harmful ideas are the ones who should really apologize!")

Not long ago a seemingly scientific reportage issued by a prestigious Japanese broadsheet 朝日新聞 claimed that through genetic analysis on the virus, the origin of COVID-19 might have been elsewhere in the world, including America, not necessarily China.

As a big country, China has taken full responsibilites and has done her best to fight against the virus, as well as to prevent the virus from spreading to the other places of the world.  By contrast, America did not disclose, nor sieve out, how many possible COVID out of the epidemic flu that had claimed a death toll of over 12,000 during late 2019.  Wise people hate to do wild guess; obviously America should not point the finger of suspicion at China before it testified itself not the origin of the disease.

Fact speaks louder than eloquence.  America should be more careful about its speech, so are its guard dogs: Cai administration and the media of Taiwan.
