Rain never veers from its path on its own

The falling leaves cover most of the surface, walkway, driveway, lawns, and streets, after last night’s unexpected storm. The autumn has come despite the warmer than seasonal temperature.

Rain never veers from its path on its own. Only a wind can make it strike my window at night.

I happened to come across the above quote of Buddha’s words this morning, OH NO my mistake! There is no accident or coincident in Buddhism.

A profound moment of sudden realization of this quote went through me, but my poor language skills do not equip me to articulate it in any language I know.  I have no way to share my philosophical understanding. The joy of personal awakening comes with sadness at not being able to share with others or being able to share with someone. It is just like life – there are always two sides to everything.

How I wish, no not wish, how I hope – one day, when this moment comes, there will be someone to enjoy the same realization with me without the aid of language just the knowing smile with the simultaneous appreciation.

It has to be hopeful – the Nobel Chemistry winner of 2010, Dr. Ei-ichi Negishi said: “I am the ultimate hopeful person, because without hope, there would be no serendipitous finds in science”. And a serendipitous find it is what I ask for, isn’t it?
